Nottinghamshire’s Dane Paterson broke into a vociferous appeal after his inducker thudded into the knee roll of Lancashire’s Danny Lamb. The fast bowler pleaded in front of the umpire with all his might, but the dreaded finger remained firmly in the pocket. An aghast Paterson couldn’t wrap his head around the verdict and tumbled to the ground on his back. The cherry seemed to have hit Lamp’s pad outside the off-stump as he prodded forward to block.
