Handy contributions from Craig Ervine, Brendan Taylor and Sikandar Raza lifted Zimbabwe to a morale-boosting win in the opening one-dayer against Ireland in Belfast. Ireland opted to bowl first and seemed to have put up a stranglehold as Simi Singh and Andy McBrine gave away just 48 from their 20 overs while accounting for two wickets. However, Raza provided the tourists with a late push courtesy of his fantastic effort worth 59 off 44. Chasing 267, Ireland fell 38 short as Zimbabwe gained ten vital World Cup Super League points.
