Pakistan have released their squad for the upcoming home T20 International series against New Zealand and England as well as the 2021 World Cup, beginning in October. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the omission of opener Sharjeel Khan, failing to make even the reserves of the 15-man squad.
As per reports from ESPNcricinfo, the new PCB chairman Ramiz Raja has had chief influence over the decision, driven by his desire to distance Pakistan Cricket from those involved in historic corruption cases. Usman Qadir, Shanawaz Dahani and Fakhar Zaman are the travelling reserves, and Asif Ali and Khushdil Shah have both been re-included after being dropped in April.
