Cricket during the English summer is often a life-assuring event, and such was no clearer than on day three at the Oval. England’s Barmy Army posted a video of them joining in the festivities of their Indian equivalent, the Bharat Army, in a scene that was heartwarming in its shelving of a fierce sporting rivalry. It is one of cricket’s most redeeming features that fans from all backgrounds and affiliations can sit and socialise harmoniously together as their teams go at each other on the field.
