Chris Woakes, England’s prodigal son who is claiming this fourth Test match as his own, again demonstrated his value to the home side after making the first breakthrough on the morning of day four. He trapped Ravindra Jadeja in front, the decision of out reviewed by Jadeja but upheld after it was shown by hawk-eye to be crashing into off stump. With India’s lead stretching towards 200, England desperately required early wickets on a flat pitch looking excellent for batting under the Oval sun.
