India had made vital incisions into England’s top- and middle-order in the fourth Test at The Oval, but Ollie Pope needles some fresh scars. The youngster well and truly justified his selection with a brisk 81 as England not only wiped out India’s first-innings total of 191 but managed to attain a slender lead. However, Pope couldn’t register the magical three figures, going after a wide delivery only to chop it onto his stumps 19 shy of a hundred.
A very impressive innings comes to an end.
