Gary Ballance scored at a fair clip in the County Championship as his 101 off 86 deliveries helped Yorkshire post a daunting 393 for Hampshire at The Rose Bowl. Sixes aren’t a common theme in multi-day cricket, but there were as many as seven that pinged off Ballance’s willow. Earlier, George Hill and Tom Kohler-Cadmore scored patient half-centuries in a 121-run second-wicket stand which lasted more than 55 overs. Spurred by the blitzkrieg from Ballance, Yorkshire eventually declared on 312/6.
