Steve Smith recently conceded that he wouldn’t mind relinquishing his participation in the T20 World Cup if doing so boosts his prospects of getting match fit for the Ashes later this year. The snub to the shorter format isn’t devoid of logic. The former Australian skipper has scored runs by the truckloads when it comes to the Ashes. He has been a thorn in England’s flesh, spending oodles of the time at the crease as he goes about plundering runs in his own eccentric ways.
