Kyle Abbott continued to impress for Hampshire as he got the opening breakthrough against Yorkshire on Monday. It came as the County Championship finally resumed after a while spent away from the cricketing spotlight. Watching Abott pin Adam Lyth in front of the stumps for 6 off 30 was a strangely reassuring sight after a month spent watching the glitz and glamour of the Hundred. Abbott himself first joined Hampshire as an overseas player in 2014, and ever since re-signing in 2017 the South African seamer has been smashing domestic records with his figures.
UPDATE | We’re through 🔟 overs here this morning and @YorkshireCCC are 13-1.@Kyle_Abbott87 with the breakthrough💪
