Tributes continue to pour in for Ted Dexter, the recently passed England batsman of such intoxicating style and imposing cricketing temperament. Dexter was a trailblazer in so many ways, be it his batting style or founding of the rankings system that is still in use today via the ICC. One of his lasting legacies still remains with Sussex County Cricket Club, with whom he won the first two seasons of the Gillette Cup. Dexter had mentioned on many occasions that his swashbuckling style would be far from out of place in the modern game, and these victories attest to such.
Ted Dexter was one of cricket’s finest contributors, who played in 62 Tests for England, 30 as captain.
He also led @SussexCCC for six seasons, which included back-to-back Gillette Cup Final victories at Lord’s in the first two years of the competition. https://t.co/bFkmP1RNPK pic.twitter.com/7qj7kWkmDn
